This is such an important topic. I&#039;m surprised I&#039;m the first person commenting. I&#039;m covering the folk lore aspect of herbs at a foraging workshop in April and this has been on my mind. Your question about harvesting 5%, and then someone else harvesting 5% and so on, puts it in perspective. 
I&#039;ve seen a couple of different approaches to foraging. Some see it from a deficit perspective as way to survive if there is a shortage of foods. It is likely that will encourage hoarding and that is a huge concern. Others see it as a way to learn about plants and possibly become acquainted with a few and grow them in their own yards. There is such a huge range of approaches.
As I listen to your concerns, I&#039;m convinced that an ethical approach needs to be a part of the foraging workshop. Just processing and I appreciate your wisdom and insights.]]></description>
