In reply to Heide. It lasts about 3-4 weeks in the fridge. Adding more honey will make it last longer and you can preserve it with the same part of 80 proof (40%) vodka and it will last all season. You will double the daily dose if you preserve with alcohol.

I have taken allergy meds (for grasses) since I was a kid (over 50 years). Two years ago I took nettle capsules along with Bromelain and I did not need any OTC meds or steroid nose spray for two seasons. This year I was not as successful because I believe one should take it before the allergy season begins. I am eager to try your recipe. Thank you, I assume it will last a long time in the refrigerator. All the best Kami!

thanks, Kami. I recently remembered going to the Whole Earth Fair in Davis in the late 70s and asking every herbalist if they had allergy remedies and nobody did…..I have used the “drink a half gallon of strong nettle daily for a month previous to allergy season” and it worked. I am happy to have this recipe to add to my allergy needs…..very grateful

I love your recipes. Your book is a must in my kitchen. I now live in a high-rise apartment (and not my beautiful property) with not much space to grow veg and herbs, so as I can see the incredible synergy of your recipe for allergies, I have no way of gathering the ingredients. I do love your garlic and tamari recipe for colds and flu.
