Hi Kami!
We home school and I have always done a wild edibles "class". Each of my children (expecting #10 in Dec.) have put together a wild edibles book/journal. (Even the littles and then when they get older, thus far, some of them "re-do" their books and make them even more elaborate.) When we find something outside that we do not know what it is we bring it home and identify it and if it is beneficial we put it in our book. It is so amazing how many "weeds" grow in our back yard for free that could be classified as "super foods". Additionally we take these books with us on our hikes. They forage food outside year round and my parents use to think that was uncivilized to say the least. But as time goes on they now teach others (parents included) what the plants are and what it is good for.

Kami, thank you for this easy hint. Like you, I think repetition is very good to help the "wee ones" learn. It is a good point about not overloading on the information--what the herb is and what it does is enough. Have a great weekend!

Wish I'd have thought of this! (Such a steadfast but gentle way of teaching kids.) Both of my kidlings learned by example, I think. Plus, we made herbal preparations together. Thanks, again, for everything you do!
