I recently poured hot soup on my hand when I was working at a Soup Kitchen. I immediately wrapped my hand in ice but on the ride home it hurt so much, and I was trying to think of what I could do when it came to me….lavender oil!!! I gently rubbed it in and within 20 minutes I was pain free. I continued to apply the oil every day and I never had any more pain and my hand healed beautifully.

Thank you for asking and clarifying. I’ve been wondering about what herbs can be used dry for folks like me who don’t yet have a fresh garden to harvest. St. John’s Wort specifically…I ordered some from a company and it was not red. An herbalist told me it was because it should never be infused dry, only fresh to be effective. Is this true?

I noticed you close to the jar cap when you leave it to stand, I have learned if to use fresh herbs to leave it open or cover with textile/paper so it can breathe. What is the reason you close it or does it differ depending on herb or cause you added alco?

You can use either fresh or dried lavender, they both work well. Great you will be making your lavender oil!
Since you are growing lavender, i would try both and see which one you like better. It is often personal preference as to which one you use.

Worms need to be moist, but moist with water, not oil.
