The only way I know is to try the &#039;burn&#039; test.  If the fiber is natural, the yarn will burn; if it is synthetic, it will melt.  
If it is already felted, you could make the hearts out of whatever the material is.  
Hot water and a hot dryer will only &#039;felt&#039; and lock the fibers more if the material is natural.  if it is synthetic, hot water should not affect it.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[I love this idea. I have a bunch of felt downstairs from other projects over the years but am not sure if it is 100% wool or not. Is there a way to tell if there is not a label? Also, should I wash and dry the felt squares before making anything like this out of them like you do in hot water and a hot dryer?]]></description>
