I love this post Kami… my love of the green world just needed a lens shift to realize that I’m in relationship all the time with the plants (not just in my garden or the forest). I cook daily and with love but now I sniff, I touch, I taste with my whole mind/body. I hold gratitude and imagination… where were you growing before you came here? Who harvested you? Did you have to travel far? What do you want to tell me? I even find myself saying I love you a lot to all the beings. It’s made everything come alive in a very animate and reciprocal way. I’m so conscious now of looking around me and seeing everything as a gift from the earth… oh my carpet is sisal, my cutting board is oak, my wooden spoon is maple, my salad bowl is yellow wood… all gift from Gaia. I’m even thinking of petroleum as prehistoric forests. The earth is so generous and reminds me of my place in it. And Kami, thank you for being part of my awakening. Your plant walks have been very transformative and tender and have reminded me of my birthright to be in conversation with the green beings and they have connected me back to deep ancestry! Also…Your body oils have changed my life. Kind of hard to explain it to a non-oiler but once it becomes part of your daily routine, there’s no going back. A holy ritual✨

Hi Kami, I’ve been working with this for awhile and still feel that I cannot hear the plants. I see my interest in them and that feels like connection. I keep asking the plant world to speak to me, that I am a humble and eager listener and still nothing….

With indigenous peoples when we gather plants – animals for food or medicine we first introduce our selves and knowledge that we intend to gather it to walk with use in your journey.We explain why we are gathering it to help us in our journey – one of their responsibilities. We let it know our intended use so it can better help us in our journey.
