70% of your immune defenses are rooted in your gut
If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve heard it before, but I am just like anyone else and always need little reminders.
So I shot 3 quick tip reminder videos of how we can all take small steps every day that add up to taking good care of ourselves.
It is great to have these little reminders because it is easy to ‘know what we should be doing’ but not always do it. I love these herbal tips, because no matter what you are eating, this will help you.
I shot these videos for myself, because truth be told, there has been a LOT of comfort food eating in my house right now. But even if you’ve been cooking up more comfort food, there are ways to support your health and bolster your immunity while doing it.
To my utmost surprise, my son has suddenly become a bread baker. He wakes up in the morning and starts baking. All kinds of breads, scones, muffins, he is working on sourdough next…
There is just something about humanity and bread! He is taking this endeavor very seriously. Note he’s using my mom’s Betty Crocker cookbook, 1961 edition. My mom got that cookbook as a wedding present! His hat though… it is so dirty, should I make him take it off when he cooks???
Back to the 3 quick tips…The word of the day is ‘herbs to boost immunity’. But how do you actually do that?
Do you know that the health of your immunity is rooted in your digestive system? 70% of your immune defenses are rooted in your gut. So that is what these 3 quick tips are all about, how to support the very root of your immune health.
Fortify your nutrient density and build a strong gut. Anyone can take these steps, and everyone needs to know about them.
#1 Tea Tactics
I hope you are optimizing the benefits of herbal tea to support your health. There is no better time than now to figure out how to create a rhythm of drinking herbal tea.
#2 Digestive and Microbiome Health
There is something you can do every day at every meal to nurture you digestive and microbiome health, it is easier than you think. Watch this 2 minute quick tip reminder.
#3 Quick and Easy Enzymes
You can add live enzymes to your food, or you can rely on your body stores of enzymes to help you digest your food. Adding nutrient dense, fresh enzymes to your meals basically preserves your enzyme storage so it can be used elsewhere. This is the most simple thing we can do to preserve our energy and support digestion.
Drink your tea, eat your micronutrients and raw enzymes and support your gut which is the backbone of your immune system. Easy.
Wishing you the very best of health,
Hi Kami can you use avocados instead of oil. Apparently if you have the Ebstein Barr virus you shouldn’t have any oils or dairy. I always need to sub things in recipes and I’m not sure what to use.
Yes!
Dear Kami Thank you for showing how to make pesto. It looks delicious.
Thank you Kami for how much you care your humanitarian gift and the wonderful health tips. My schedule does not allow for such an Indepth herbal class, but I’ll be watching for a shorter version. Thank you again
I love that cookbook! I have the same one… My 3 sons started cooking when they were young, and to this day – all of them are the main cooks for their families. It’s exciting to see youngsters in the kitchen…kudos to your son ♥
I’ve tried tea pots, but not a thermos. That’s a great idea! Also, what all do you eat pesto with? You mentioned breakfast…
I love this newsletter! Im on it! I just recieved a very large order of greens from my weekly organic produce delievery. I was surprised at the huge danelion greens! I used many fresh. And i weekly take my deep greens and put them in the Dehydrator. Then i grind them in a herb grinder and powder them. I keep in a jar and shake over my food.. whether its food cooking or sprinkle on top. My daughter who is visiting, have me the idea. We cook from scratch every meal 😋 it has really kept us healthy over the… Read more »
The pesto video was amazing! How do you get beyond the fear of choosing the “right” ingredients–especially flavors? Unless I’m following a recipe–someone else’s choice of flavor combinations–I’m always fearful that a random collection of flavors will taste revolting. It’s one thing to experiment with a swirl of raspberry jam in brownies but quite another to open the refrigerator, put a random collection of green leaves into a blender, and expect it to be edible. Any suggestions for a mantra I can use to face my fear?
Use some recipes for awhile. Try my book The Herbal Kitchen, which has an entire chapter devoted to Herbal Pesto recipes.
I love that your son is making bread. MY son used to do things like this and he still likes to cook, make bread, etc. Don’t mess with the cap! That’s personal, if he is doing all the things you advise he will be fine and so will the rest of you.
Love this! I always add herbs and spices as I cook, but love the idea of sprinkling herbs/spices on top just before eating, especially if I can harvest them fresh from my herb garden.
Love these ideas!
Looks amazing, I can’t wait to make this 💕
Fantastic! Thanks for the reminder, these 3 things are so powerful, tasty and easy to help support my family’s health.
You have inspired me! I have all the above ingredients in my garden and am going to keep a weekly stock of pesto. Thank you for the videos.
Thank you!! Love that you put the tea on the table! Can’t wait to try the pesto and order your book!
Love these Kami!!!
I love your pesto stuff oh wow I’m going to make some today! Thank you!,
Looks delicious.
Great videos.
You are so right about having the “right food/drink” available for the family. My 22 yr old son is away at school and now makes his own tea blends. It feels so great as a parent to pass along some healthy habits.
Love pesto and have never added red pepper. Can’t wait to try it. I love sorrel pesto on salmon.
Kudos!
Good momma, got your son making his own tea, that will carry him throughout his entire life
You are a blessing in my life!
