This rosemary tea for colds is one of the simplest home remedies. Be prepared and know how to make it before a cold or flu settles in!
Is Rosemary Tea Good for Colds?
Rosemary is an incredibly strong antimicrobial. It’s antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal. Rosemary tea for colds can be a very effective remedy. But keep in mind that herbs work best when you use them preventatively or at the very onset of something.
You want to get to a point where you can make this tea in your sleep, especially if you’re a mom. If I hear a cough in the night, I will get up and I will make this rosemary tea for colds. I will wake that person up — or they are probably somewhat awake because they’re coughing — and we will drink tea in the night.
Instead of waiting for that cough to settle in and waiting for the bacteria to settle in, we drink the tea in the night and get the herbs working right away.
Drinking this rosemary tea will also stimulate your circulation and get your blood moving. It will disinfect your body and is really good at the onset of colds.
How Often to Drink Rosemary Tea for Colds
You can drink 2 cups of hot rosemary tea for colds a day, for 2 days at the onset of a cold.
This tea has an intense flavor, so for children, you’ll probably want to do half tea and half water to get them started.

Yes, although I usually find warm drinks more soothing when I’m sick, the actions are still present.

What’s the best time of year and best time of day to harvest rosemary?
Hi Julie, the best time of day is typically mid-morning — after the morning dew has evaporated and before the heat of the day has wilted the plant. Time of year really depends on the plant and climate…typically when the plant part you want is at it’s peak vibrancy.
