Did you know that 75 percent of Americans experience some form of digestive distress? With optimal digestion being the driver of a healthy immune system, balanced moods, steady energy, stable blood sugar, and strong vitality, this is a disturbing statistic. You want to support your gut. This salad seed sprinkle recipe is a remedy!
Besides adding flavor to your meal, this salad seed sprinkle recipe is a carminative. Carminatives help us digest our food by stimulating production of gastric fluids and enzymatic secretions. They enhance your absorption of nutrients. When you have a little carminative at every meal, you are being supported.
I call this recipe Yum Yum Salad Sprinkle. Whenever I make this, people just cannot resist it. We keep it in a little bowl on the table, but it doesn’t last long!
Here’s what this nutrient-dense salad seed sprinkle recipe contains:
- Sesame seeds add a nice crunch and flavor, as well as fiber, vitamins, minerals including calcium, and antioxidants
- Chives contain plenty of vitamins A and C and minerals like calcium, and are a powerful antioxidant and carminative
- Seaweed supports thyroid function and is high in minerals, trace elements, vitamins, and essential amino acids
- Thyme is a carminative herb that will dispel gas, bloating, or indigestion; it’s also full of minerals including iron
- Black pepper is the emperor of digestive aids and facilitates dispersal of nutrients throughout the body
Of course, it’s delicious on salads. You can also garnish soups with it, put it on your sandwiches, sprinkle it on toasted bread, and put it on sautéed veggies or stir-fries.
