I’ve just started using a St John’s Wort salve (that I made last year from some oil I infused) on my feet. I’ve developed Plantar Faciitis, an annoying foot ache/pain, probably from being on my feet all day gardening! I just started rubbing it into my feet three or four times per day. So far I do think it’s helping. Fingers crossed!!!

I mix St. John's Wort oil with lavender oil and use it to heal rashes, aches and pains. In fact, I use it all over my body at night. You told about this blend, Kami and I love it.

It doesn't leave a color stain, but all oils leave stains. For massage clients, I soak the sheets in vinegar, wash them in warm water and if possible hang them out on the line to dry.

My husband surprised me last summer by coming home with the bed of his pickup full of SJW~~better than a bouquet of roses in my book! I made lots of oil and tincture. Love to use them layered...first the tincture then the oil. The tincture works well for nerve pain (like sciatica), and is easier for people to use when they are working and don't want to get oil on their clothes. I just took a big spray bottle of the tincture to an 89 yr old aunt with neuropathy pain in her feet; she can spritz and get relief. She also uses it for her headaches by rubbing it on the back of her neck and her temples. SJW is in daily use in my house!

For years I have used SJW oil with some essential oils for my wrists when they swell from over-use. I used to be able to harvest it in the wild where I lived before but now I only have access to dried as it is considered an invasive plant in Alberta and growing it is illegal. So I don't have the pretty red colour but it still seems to work well.
