DIY Herbal Allergy Syrup Recipe

Make this now to have it ready when you need it most. For the best results, take 1 -2 teaspoons daily leading up to and during the times of year you experience symptoms.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart water
  • 1/2 cup dried nettle leaf (or 1 cup fresh)
  • 1/2 cup dried goldenrod aerial parts (or 1 cup fresh)
  • 2 tbsp dried elderflower (or 2 tablespoons fresh)
  • 2 cups raw, local honey (give or take a bit)

Instructions

  • Combine water and herbs in a stockpot.
  • Simmer gently until the liquid is reduced by half.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Strain herbs from the liquid then add equal amounts of honey. (If you have 2 cups of liquid, add 2 cups of honey.)
  • Stir to combine, cool completely, then bottle and store in the refrigerator for 4 weeks.
