Immerse the multitudes of nerve endings in your feet into a tub of herbal tea, and let the herbs work you over. It is a treatment of least effort yet the effects are impressive.
Herbal Foot Bath Benefits for Stress Relief
Try getting into the habit of making an herbal foot soak for yourself any time you feel fatigued, stressed out or a little out of sorts on any level. I do herbal foot baths after a long day of teaching, hiking or working in the garden.
What could an herbal foot soak help you with? Does anything come to mind that a little stress relief could help? Just imagine soaking your feet in a warm bath of aromatic and healing herbs….
Steeping your feet in herbal tea is a delicious way to care for your body. Foot soaks are a feast for the feet.
My husband, 10-year old son and I do foot soaks at the end of the day as a way to bond, hang out and generally just chill together. It definitely makes for an easier transition to bedtime for my son who does not like going to bed.
Who would you like to make an herbal foot soak for?
Natural Homemade Foot Soak
It’s easy to make an herbal foot bath:
1) Put 1 gallon of water into a large pot.
2) Put 1 cup of dried herbs into the pot.
3) Bring the water and herbs to a boil, turn off the heat and let the herbs infuse for 1 hour with the lid on the pot. Now you have a very big pot of tea!
4) Leave the herbs in the water for the herbal foot bath or strain them out.
5) Reheat to the perfect temperature just before using.
6) Pour the strained or unstrained tea into a foot basin. I like to leave the herbs in; they continue to infuse into the water and I enjoy their color and texture.
7) Soak your feet for 10 minutes or for as long as you like. Sometimes I even fall asleep like this!
8) It isn’t much of a mess to clean up after an herbal foot soak. When you are finished, just pour the water and herbs into a garden bed outside.
Best Herbs to Soak Your Feet In
My favorite herbs to use for a relaxing herbal foot soak are rose petals and chamomile. You can use them separately or mix them all together to give yourself a mini home-spa treatment.

Hi Kami! We’ve actually done this camping, all of us in our camping chairs, sticking our feet into one of our big food totes with herbs/plants we’ve gathered that day. It really warms us up and we head off to our sleeping bags with at least clean feet!
Miss you, Jeanne
I love to soak my feet and this sounds just heavenly! Rose would be my pick as well or maybe a lemon?
I will have to try this. I have a lot of stress and always looking for natural ways to reduce it.
That looks amazing.
